What to Expect

St. Peter's congregation is a group of people dedicated to "Giving glory to God, by knowing Christ and making Him known to others."  Here's what to expect when you walk in the door.....

Greeting

Start your morning by waving down a friendly golf cart driver for a ride from your car to the door of the sanctuary.  An usher will greet you at the door to hand you a bulletin and answer any of your questions. Children's Sunday school is offered during the 9:30 service (during the school year).  You can drop your child(ren) off in the chapel on your way to worship in the sanctuary.  The children will join their parents in church during the announcements.

Worship

At St. Peter's we follow the liturgy of the Episcopal Church as found in the Book of Common Prayer.  We use Rite 1 for the 8:00 AM service, Rite 2 for the 9:30 AM and 11:15 AM services.  During Advent and Lent, the 11:15 service uses Rite 1.  There is no music at 8:00 AM.  The 9:30 service uses a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary Christian music accompanied by the Praise and Worship team.  Traditional hymns are sung at 11:15 accompanied by the Chancel Choir.  The Chancel Choir performs an Anthem during the offertory.

During the summer, our services are at 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM.  Generally beginning in June and lasting through mid-September.  Please call the office to verify.

Coffee, Donuts, and other Good Stuff

Please join us in Tucker Hall after church for a hot cup of coffee and a donut or bagel.  A hot breakfast is sometimes served between the 9:30 and 11:15 services, beginning at 10:45 AM.  This is a great time for conversation and fellowship.  If you choose to attend one of the adult Sunday school classes, you can pick up some breakfast to take with you.
