CFC Pilgrimage to Assisi
October 4-11, 2025
As we launch the Community of Saints Francis and Clare (CFC) we are planning a pilgrimage to Assisi, Italy this fall to the places where these two saints started their young adult communities that transformed Christianity. Join CFC Director, the Rev. Rich Nelson, as we travel to Florence, La Verna, and on to Assisi to learn more about Francis and Clare’s message of simplicity, spirituality, and service.

8-days: Saturday, Oct. 4 to Saturday, Oct. 11 (with an option to delay joining us until Wednesday, Oct. 8th if you want a shorter experience)

Spending 2 nights in Florence, 2 nights in La Verna, and 3 nights in Assisi

Highlights will include the Basilica of St. Francis, the Basilica of St. Clare, and several other sites of historic and spiritual significance to the stories of Francis and Clare

Enjoy daily worship together, with a combination of group tours and time for you to explore on your own

A base registration fee of $800 includes double-occupancy lodging. (An option of $950 for single-occupancy in Florence and Assisi is available if you prefer. Double-occupancy is required in La Verna). This registration covers all lodging, bus transportation between towns, a local tour guide in Assisi, and two days of meals in La Verna. All other meals and costs, including airfare and other ground transportation before and after the group experience, are on your own.

Arrange and pay for your own travel from the U.S. to Italy and back. Please plan to arrive in Florence, Italy no later than Saturday evening, Oct. 4th (or to arrive in Assisi, Italy by Wednesday morning, Oct. 8 for the shorter experience). Plan to leave Assisi and begin your return to the U.S. starting Saturday, Oct. 11.
We are limited in the numbers we can accommodate on this pilgrimage. Registration is open to the first 15 people who sign up below (with more pilgrimage opportunities to Assisi planned for the future).
